Mr. Vijay Shankarrao Ghonse has dedicated approximately 38 years of exemplary service to the co-operative banking sector in Maharashtra. His journey in banking began with the Nanded District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., where he was appointed as a Clerk on October 10, 1986.
Over the course of 25 years at Nanded DCC Bank, Mr. Ghonse held multiple key positions, including Clerk, Cashier, Branch Manager, Bank Inspector, Internal Auditor, Senior Inspector, Inspector of the Non-Agricultural Loan Department, Head of the Recovery Department, District Coordinator of the Vaidyanathan Committee Cell, and Assistant Manager in the Agricultural Loan Department. His versatile experience and dedication played a crucial role in strengthening the operational framework of the bank.
In June 2011, Mr. Ghonse was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Dhule and Nandurbar District Central Co-operative Bank, a position he held till June 30, 2014. Under his leadership, the bank achieved a significant milestone by obtaining a banking license from the Reserve Bank of India.
Mr. Ghonse continued to contribute to the co-operative sector. From 2014 to 2016, he served as a Consultant and subsequently as the Chief Executive Officer of Lokmangal Multistate Cooperative Society in Solapur. From 2016 to 2019, he was the Managing Director of Osmanabad District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd., leading various reforms and development initiatives. He returned to Lokmangal Multistate Cooperative Society as CEO from 2019 to 2020, and later rejoined Osmanabad DCC Bank as MD/CEO from 2021 to 2025. He resigned from this position on January 3, 2025, and was appointed Joint CEO of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Banks Association, Mumbai, effective March 11, 2025.

Academic Contributions and Training Initiatives
Mr. Ghonse is the author of a guidebook on maintaining accounts of Primary Agricultural Co-operative Societies (PACS), aligning with the recommendations of the Prof. Vaidyanathan Committee. This guide has been widely adopted by PACS across Maharashtra. He has also been a dedicated trainer, having conducted 71 training programs across 17 districts, where he has trained over 7,000 PACS secretaries, employees, bank officers, and auditors on the Common Accounting System (CAS).

In 2013, Mr. Ghonse was honored with the Best Youth CEO of DCCB Award by Banking Frontiers and also honored with the Excellence in Cooperative Banking Award by FACE, New Delhi for his banking initiatives of outstanding leadership and service at Dhule and Nandurbar DCC Bank
